Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS - NIGHT SHIFTAbout the Role:The Environmental Service Attendant - Night Shift plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the Glenville Federally Qualified Health Center (GLFQH). This position ensures that all patient care areas, common spaces, and support areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected according to established health and safety protocols. The attendant works primarily during the night shift, allowing for minimal disruption to patient care activities while supporting infection control efforts. By performing routine cleaning, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance, the attendant helps to create a welcoming and hygienic environment that promotes patient and staff well-being. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the overall quality of care and operational efficiency of the health center.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in environmental services or janitorial work, preferably in a healthcare setting.Ability to work independently during night hours with minimal supervision.Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment operation.Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in healthcare environmental services or related training.Familiarity with OSHA regulations and infection control procedures.Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center or similar healthcare facility.Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with healthcare staff.Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, waiting rooms, and other facility spaces during the night shift.Collect and dispose of medical and general waste in compliance with health regulations and facility policies.Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all equipment is maintained and stored properly after use.Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate supervisory staff promptly.Adhere strictly to infection control standards, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements while working within the healthcare environment.Skills:The Environmental Service Attendant utilizes their knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical handling daily to ensure all areas meet stringent hygiene standards. Attention to detail is essential when disinfecting patient care spaces to prevent the spread of infections. Time management skills are critical to complete all cleaning tasks efficiently during the night shift without disrupting healthcare operations. Communication skills are employed to report maintenance needs and coordinate with other staff members to maintain a safe environment.
