This individual should be a dynamic professional who has a strong interest in the energy sector and a passion for electromechanical system design.The Equipment Engineering Intern supports the Stack Development team by overseeing test equipment design ensuring equipment is properly maintained optimized for performance and aligned with testing needs. This includes troubleshooting hardware issues supporting continuous improvement efforts and collaborating on process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce tool downtime.Location: This position will be based in Fremont CA.Job ResponsibilitiesWork with stack engineering and maintenance teams to design upgrades to existing electromechanical systems design tooling and fixtures and generate documentation (fabrication drawings P&IDs wiring diagrams)Research and specify specialized test hardware fixtures and data acquisition equipmentParticipate in design reviews with engineering teamMake recommendations for improved test designsWork with outside vendors and machine shops to procure materialsWilling to roll up your sleeves to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issuesMinimum QualificationsCurrently a student earning a Bachelors in Mechanical Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.Must be graduating between spring 2026 and summer 2027Desired Qualifications:Takes direction wellStrong mechanical aptitudeStrong electrical aptitudeDemonstrated hands on troubleshooting skillsExperience or course work requiring use of lab electronics (i.e. multimeter oscilloscope breadboard circuits etc.)Professional & collaborative demonstrated ability to work closely within a teamAbility to communicate with all levels within the organization in a verbal and written manner - managers co-workers support services electronic communications et al.Organizational and planning skillsStrong sense of ownership and workmanshipComputer savvy - MS Word Excel PowerPoint SolidWorksProgramming experience is a plus (C C LabVIEW MATLAB Visual Basic etc.) Exposure to electrochemistry fuel cell or battery technology is a plusVisa Sponsorship Bloom Energy is unable to provide VISA sponsorship to interns or new grad hires on an F-1 J-1 or other visa for this position regardless of CPT or OPT status.EOE StatementBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
