Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Job SummaryThe Equipment Operator position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently operate an extended boom forklift.Responsibilities and DutiesTo be proficient in moving equipment/materials without causing damage, maintain forklift in good working condition, notify Yard Superintendent or Project Manager when any maintenance and/or repairs are required, and work efficiently and productively throughout workday.The Equipment Operator is ultimately responsible for the safety of all personnel involved in lifting activities, adequacy of lifting gear utilized, ensuring that equipment/materials are not damaged during lifts, and their level of productivity.NOTE: It should be noted, that if an Equipment Operator is not certified or does not have the training to operate all types of Heavy equipment for which the operator has been deemed competent. Training must be scheduled, and the Operations Manager must be notified.Daily and Routine InspectionsCheck all fluids in machineBlowing out air filter twice a week or three times a weekKeep machine greased every weekCheck slings every day and tags can be read clearlyHave pins in shackles every time they are being usedKeep machine full of fuelHave a maintenance report done everydayReport all damages and incidents to supervisorEnsure if using straps that they are checked and that tags can be read clearlyMake sure that there are pins in shackles each time that they are in useKeep chains lubricated at all timesDo not leave trash in cab and keep inside of cab clean and swept outAlways have tag lines on machine and ensure that taglines are being use on every lift.Ensure if you use hooks that they have safety latches on themCheck cables on drums regularlyLook at all crane pins to make sure that the cotter pins are inCheck and make sure decals are good and noticeableEnsure you are writing the correct department name and Job # on all daily time descriptionsComplete and discuss a thorough JSA prior to each task.Be willing to perform tasks outside of equipment operation when called upon to do so.You are ultimately responsible for operation equipment as per equipment operating manual.Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as ACI as a company.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred.2 years minimum experience in extended boom forklift operation.HSE ResponsibilitiesEmbrace, lead, and demonstrate “Acadian F.I.R.S.T.” – Vision & Mission Statement as fundamental core values.Demonstrate implementation of proactive safety processes (JSA, Time Out & TEAM BBS Observations) to achieve an incident-free workplace and advance our safety culture.Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System policies, procedures, best practices, and client-specific site policies.Make a personal commitment and be accountable for HSE results, supporting team members through coaching and mentoring to achieve goals.Accept coaching and demonstrate ownership and improvement of HSE processes based on feedback and ongoing mentorship.Requirements:
