You can build your future here!THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for a Compact Equipment Repair Specialist to join our growing operations at our Lafayette, Louisiana location. The Compact Construction Technician will be responsible for servicing and repairing Caterpillar Compact (BCP) equipment at our shop or onsite at customer locations. Candidates require a strong work ethic to complete tasks efficiently and safely with minimal supervision.YEARLY POTENTIAL$60,000 - $120,000 yearlyThe yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.YOUR CONTRIBUTIONDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair and reconditioning of all components of compact equipment such as electrical codes, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, power generation and power trainsResponsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submission of information according to Caterpillar standards and technical service manualsUnderstand Caterpillar exchange parts process and inancial cost analysis of repairs for our customersTests and verifies proper operation of all repairsPrepares and completes all work order documents on our Caterpillar customer service report software systems; in addition, accesses databases required to complete the jobCompletes assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate time and re-work standardsAbility to act with a great sense of urgency to meet customer needs and work under fast-paced, time-constraining circumstances.YOUR VALUEYou will promote positive customer service according to Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectationsYou will have the tools and building blocks to MAKE A CAREER here at Louisiana Cat. In walk through our Louisiana Cat doors...are the finest Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Service Technicians in the South.MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferredREQUIRED: Minimum of 3 years of experience with troubleshooting and repair skills on Construction Equipment such as Skid Steers and Mini Excavators.REQUIRED: Extensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical and undercarriage including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenanceMust own required tool inventory.
