Wilkes University invites applicants for an English as a Second language (ESL) Program specialist in the English Language Center (ELC). The ELC offers an assortment of programs to meet the varying needs of adult English-language learners through our Intensive English Program University Preparatory Program English for Specific Purposes programs and Short term programming.The successful candidate is responsible for teaching approximately twenty contact hours per week three semesters a year (spring summer and fall) in all programs in the English Language Center. A Masters Degree in TESOL or a relevant field with appropriate experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience teaching in a University Intensive English Program (IEP) expertise in teaching English as a Second language (ESL) for credit courses in a University Pathway Program expertise in English for Specific purposes (ESP) course development and teaching specifically in the areas of Military English Diplomatic English English for Medical purposes English for Teacher training using the SIOP method and experience developing and teaching content in short term intensive English programs with advanced level students. Candidates must also possess expertise and experience in developing and teaching IEP ESL ESP and IEP short term programs remotely.
