Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $65,000 - $79,000Position SummaryThe Estimator position involves logging incoming request for pricing, developing quotes, and supporting the TcFAB Fabrication Programs in response to customer requests. The Estimator must be a self-starter and have the ability to perform in a dynamic working environment while working with the rest of Estimating Team. Must have general knowledge of manufacturing process for both Sheetmetal / Structural items. Must be comfortable seeking material quotes from vendors to support building quotes for fabricated partsThe Estimator position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills. Ability to easily navigate NAVSEA and Engineered drawings is preferred. Salary to be determined based on evaluation of current skill sets.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSubmit RFQs to vendors for all material & calculate pricing for all items in assigned quotesSubmit RFQs to subcontractors for services as needed to support assigned quotesSource costs and material availability with vendorsAbility to follow directions and work independently to meet customer deadlinesUse Excel skill set to put together information in required templatesCommunicate with vendors and customers in both verbal and written formInterface with various members of Tcnico Corporation to execute estimating related tasksFollow TcFAB written processes while accomplishing task, strong adherence to detailPosition RequirementsDuties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience:Associates degree or equivalent education/experience in estimating/material planningShipboard trade experience with sheetmetal / structural drawings and installationsExperience working on a computer to support daily tasks completed in a timely mannerProficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.Must be able to work with various team members to assist with estimate development.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must possess excellent communication skills to coordinate with project managers, engineering staff and material vendorsMust be able to use a computer to store and retrieve informationMust be able to work with various team members to assist with estimate development.Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions in an effective way.Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals.Must know how to measure using tape measureMust be able to wear applicable PPE (steel toe shoes, ear protection, face shields, safety glasses and face coverings as required)Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability ScreeningPhysical and Environmental DemandsOffice positions in a production environment may be exposed to noise levels, dust and/or grime. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
