Estimator at AECOM

AECOM is seeking Estimators specializing in general construction estimating to be based in New York NY.  Will operate as an Estimator working directly with the NYC SCA on projects related to schools throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs.Responsibilities:Confer with a broad range of technical professional and managerial personnel as well as designers consultants and contractors to coordinate and establish a detailed cost estimate.Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction.Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents contract drawings specifications or contract changes.Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if an estimate is appropriate for SCAs implementation.Participate in cost negotiations.Plan assign and review the cost-estimating work of estimates.Analyze blueprints specifications proposals and other documentation to prepare time cost materials and labor estimates.Consult with clients vendors personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning organizing and scheduling work.Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.Utilize computer-based estimating software and cost databases to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.Qualifications : Minimum Requirements:BA/BS 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Requirements:Specializing in General Construction estimatingExcellence in calculating prime time labor escalation and unstandardized coefficient.Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture construction management engineering environmental services or related coursework. 8 years of experience as an estimator.Additional Information : We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States.  Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current OPT F1 or H1-B visa holders in the United States.Relocation is not available for this position.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
