Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Estimator Job Description:Essential Functions:Develop pricing in accordance with the scope, specifications, and customer special requirements for each bid invitation assigned.Once job has been awarded to BBI, participate in “hand-over” meeting with assigned Project Manager and Estimating Manager to assure understanding of the work to be performed as it was bid.Participate in “pre-job” meeting with Project Manager, Superintendent, Operations Manager, applicable Division Manager, and other pertinent personnel.Assist Projects Administrator when necessary with entry of budget into Sage Contractor.Reconcile Bid drawings to AFC drawings, formulate change orders (true up) and review with Estimating Manager prior to submittal to customer.Attend bid showings as required.HSE Responsibilities: Embrace, lead, and demonstrate Broussard Brothers’ Safety First attitude.Demonstrate visible leadership and support the proactive safety processes (JSA, Stop Work, and BBS Observations) to achieve an incident-free work place and advance our safety culture.Adhere to all “Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems Manual” policies, procedures, safe work, and best practices guidance as well as regulatory and client site specific policies and procedures.Stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or observed and honor any stop work called by a coworker, customer, or employee.Competencies:Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Education/Experience Requirements:At least 5 years of Project Management or Estimating experience in a construction related business required. Bachelor’s technical degree required – preferably Construction Management and/or Engineering. Five years minimum cost estimating experience in marine construction, pipeline construction, pipeline removal, bulkhead construction (wood and steel), platform removal, decommissioning, dredging, and rock pad installation.
