Job Description

Summary of RoleThe Event Planning Manager will be responsible for servicing groups and nurturing existing accounts to support all qualified group business to achieve and exceed hotel service and revenue goals. The Event Manager will execute all convention service-related activities while building strong trusting long-lasting client and peer relationships. This is a hands-on leadership position that must ensure the execution of guest expectations for meetings and events.Essential Job Duties:Responsible for delivering exceptional events in line with brand standardsResponsible for working directly with the respective operations teams and client to ensure a seamless execution of meetings and eventsResponsible for the execution of all aspects of event planning including coordination from the signing of a group contract forward VIP needs amenities group resumes and BEOs.Establish client relationships and maintain existing relationships to maximize revenueCreate and present promotional enhancement and up-sell strategies to impact need and/or seasonal periodsExecute and support the operational aspects of business booked. Transfer accurate complete and timely information to the hotel operations teams in accordance with hotel and brand standardsEffectively resolve guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Bring issues to the attention of the property and sales leadership team as appropriateEnsure maximization of room and meeting space revenues and profits while delivering a quality productServes as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviorsFosters open channels of communication between all employeesFollow all additional duties as assigned by managementJob Requirements:Previous hotel experience managing large high profile convention groupsMust possess excellent communication follow-up and organizational skillsSets high personal performance standards and enjoys keeping track of individual and team progress towards goalsMust be proactive and have a creative positive and focused approachStrong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environmentWork cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a teamMust be able to stand for long periods of timePhysical Requirements:The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequentlyAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to bend and twist push and pull stoop and kneelAscend and descend a ladder.The salary range for this position is: $68000 to 71000 annually.
