At BASIS Charter Schools we believe in excellence growth and community and were looking for passionate professionals who share that vision.Position SummaryThe Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher works directly with students to identify and provide required educational services and supports as part of an individualized Education Program (IEP) 504 Plans or English Learner (EL) Plan. The ESS Teacher participates in parent meetings ensures compliance with disability law and related practices and collaborates with general education teachers to support student success.Essential FunctionsProvide specialized instruction and support to fulfill IEP 504 and EL requirements.Manage case services for students with disabilities including plan program and development.Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education laws.Facilitate IEP and 504 meetings and participate in MET (Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team) meetings.Support general education teachers in implementing IEP requirements to ensure FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education).Collect and maintain documentation associated with IEPs ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.Gather student data for IEP and MET meetings track and report progress on IEP goals.Prepare and submit accurate timely data for regulatory purposes.Adapt and deliver specially designed instruction for eligible students with disabilities.Perform CPI-certified restraint or seclusion as designated (if required).Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of Instructional Assistants.Proctor individual or small group assessments for state district or alternate testing.Manage the 504 process and EL assessments/services.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.Certification: Valid Special Education Certification CPR and First Aid valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred:Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education; Masters degree in Special Education or related field.Experience: One or more years of special education teaching experience.Certification: CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention).System Knowledge: Familiarity with IEP Pro or other IEP document management systems.Benefits and SalarySalary for this position is competitive and dependent on education and experience.BASIS Ed offers a comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to:Employer-paid medical and dental insuranceVision insurancePaid Time Off (PTO)Ability to add dependents401k with partial match that grows over timeEmployee Assistance ProgramChildcare Savings Opportunity (KinderCare tuition discount)DisclaimerThis job description is intended to outline the essential duties and qualifications of the position.
