Location: Hummelstown, PA

Schedule: Full-Time

Monday–Wednesday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM

Thursday: 7:45 AM – 4:00 PM

Friday: 7:45 AM – 12:00 PM (once a month, optional/as needed)

No nights. No weekends. Ever.

Responsibilities

As an EFDA at Hershey Dental Associates, you’ll play a vital clinical role supporting your doctor and delivering exceptional, biologically minded care. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide attentive chairside assistance to the doctor during restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and biological procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, organize trays, and ensure all materials and instruments are ready for seamless patient care
  • Place, contour, and finish composite restorations (Class I–V) in accordance with PA EFDA regulations
  • Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, wedges, and retraction cord
  • Fabricate, place, and adjust temporary crowns and bridges
  • Take digital impressions and Trios scans
  • Take digital X-rays and CBCT scans following ALARA principles
  • Take high-quality intraoral photos for diagnostics and patient education
  • Assist with mercury-safe removal protocols (training provided)
  • Support biological dentistry procedures such as ozone use, PRF preparation, and laser-assisted treatments (training provided)
  • Assist with cementation procedures, including cleanup of excess cement
  • Perform coronal polishing
  • Conduct preliminary charting and assist in updating medical histories
  • Provide patient education on procedures, post-op expectations, and treatment plans
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols and assist with sterilization and instrument processing
  • Stock, organize, and maintain operatories and supply areas
  • Support the doctor and team during downtime by helping wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly
  • Accurately document all patient care in electronic dental records
  • Collaborate with the clinical team on treatment planning, case flow, and follow-up care


Requirements

  • Current EFDA licensure in the state of Pennsylvania
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Radiology certification
  • CPR certification
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, oral diseases, and preventive care
  • Familiarity with Dentrix software preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment
