Job DescriptionJob DescriptionExperienced Carpenters - We mostly work in Virginia Beach (99%) of the time. We work on high end new and remodeled residential homes. We work 40 hours a week Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. MUST have a vehicle and a legal driving license. Must have experience and pay is according to how much experience. We only want committed employees that want to work full time. We do offer Holiday and vacation after 90 days. We offer Simple IRA with up to a 3% match that would start on January 1 after 1 full year of employment or you can opt out. Bonuses are after 1 year of employment. We offer Health insurance and we pay half of that costs after 60 days or you can opt out. We pay weekly on Fridays. We need experienced trim carpenters and carpenters. We DO NOT need project managers, so please do not respond if you want a supervisor or project manager position. If you are an experienced trim carpenter (Interior or Exterior) we would like to set up an appointment at one of our job sites.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specificationsTake measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials needed for the projectCut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurementsBuild window frames, doors, staircases, brattices, frame buildings, and other structures by using raw materials or pre-constructed itemsInstall hardwood floors, siding, cabinets, drywall, and insulationInspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as neededComply with all company and governmental safety guidelinesRequirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a carpentry program at a vocational school or carpentry apprenticeship preferred2+ years of professional carpentry experience a plusStrong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and constructionProficient in using electrical and hand tools as well as measurement toolsAble to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsGood physical condition, stamina, and dexterityCompany DescriptionWe are a high end residential construction company. We do new & remodeled homes that are $1 million to $12 million. Most of our remodels are over $3 million and up. At least 95% of our work is in Va.
