Job Description
OverviewWe are looking for a passionate Child Care Teacher to join our team. You will create a safe nurturing and engaging environment for young children supporting their social emotional and cognitive development in compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) guidelines.This positions works Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM depending upon the needs of the center.World of Care specialized child care center is designed to meet the individual needs of children who have medical conditions requiring daily nursing care and children with developmental disabilities who require multiple therapies (physical occupational or speech/language).While we accept typically developing children priority for admission is given to children who are medically fragile or developmentally delayed or disabled.World of Care is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education and licensed by the Maryland Office of Child Care Administration.ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment in compliance with MSDE regulations.Communicate effectively with parents guardians and staff.Observe and document childrens progress and share updates with families.Ensure compliance with all licensing and health requirements.Participate in ongoing professional development and training.QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Completion of the 90-hour Preschool Certification approved by MSDE.45-hour Infant and Toddler Certification ( if caring for children under age 2).Ability to obtain the following within 90 days of employment:ADA Training.Basic Health and Safety Certificate.At least 1 year of experience working with preschool or infant/toddler children OR 30 semester hours of college coursework in early childhood education or a related field.9 clock hours of approved training in communication with staff parents and the public.Commitment to ongoing professional development (minimum 12 clock hours annually).Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and staff.Preferred QualificationsChild Development Associate (CDA) credential.Additional coursework or certifications in early childhood education.Experience working with children with special needs.Bilingual or multilingual skills.Familiarity with MSDE regulations and licensing requirements.BenefitsCompetitive payPaid professional development opportunities.Supportive team environment.Opportunities for career growth.Minimum pay rangeUSD $31200.00/Yr.Maximum pay rangeUSD $46813.00/Yr.
