Associate Attorney - Family Law

Bolingbrook & Chicago offices - Hybrid position!

Primary Responsibilities:

The Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including:

  • Divorce, legal separation, and parentage cases
  • Allocation of parental responsibilities, spousal maintenance, and child support
  • Orders of protection and other related family law disputes


Key duties include:

  • Representing clients in routine court appearances and hearings
  • Drafting and arguing motions
  • Conducting legal research and writing
  • Engaging in settlement negotiations
  • Maintaining consistent and professional client communication
  • MUST BE ABEL TO HANDLE A FAMILY LAW CASE FROM INTAKE THROUGH TRIAL
  • Assist other attorneys with case strategy and preparation for contested matters.
  • Cover for other attorneys in court on other types of matters as well - we work as a team!


Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar
  • 3+ years of experience practicing as a family law attorney
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong advocacy skills, professionalism, and a genuine passion for family law
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English, preferred not required)
  • Ability to bill and collect 100 hours a month (we have the work).


Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year, plus bonuses based on revenue generated and additional bonuses based on cases brought into the firm. This range reflects the potential base pay for the role; actual compensation will be determined based on additional factors such as experience, education, skills and overall ability. For a candiate can produce, there is nearly no limit to the potential compensation.

Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law within the state of Illinois. We will not consider applicants who have not yet passed the bar or who are not licensed in Illinois.


Applicants must also have reliable transportation as we handle cases not only in Cook County but throughout the suburbs.


Applicants should be capable of handling basic family law matters with minimal supervision. Being new to family law is not an option as the hired candidate will need to hit the ground running.
