Seeking experienced Manual Machinists. This is not a CNC operator position. You will operate all shop machines to full capacity without supervision, in a safe productive manner, consistently producing quality product(s).

Responsibilities:

• Have a working knowledge of shop math and trigonometry, as well as decimal equivalents and metric conversion.
• Work from engineering and assembly prints, both metric and English units.
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
• Analyzing specification charts, samples and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements.
• Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
• Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Layout any job for all machines in shop without supervision.
• Operate all shop machines (having experience on each) to full capacity without supervision (horizontal boring mill, vertical milling machine, vertical turret lathe, engine turning lathe).
• Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
• Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop.
• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
• Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain an operational minimum tool requirement (see tool list for this classification).
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Must have machinist tools and toolbox.
• Maintains a safe work area.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in machinery or other related fields
• Familiarity machine tools and equipment
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous experience in blueprint reading
• Previous experience using precision measuring instruments
• Previous experience using milling machines (Bridgeport, HBM, etc.)
• Previous experience using turning lathes
