Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryTEACHER ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION** Bright Start Learning Center Preschool is seeking qualified candidates for Early Education Teacher Assistants. Our hours of operation are 7:30 am - 6:00 pm. These are permanent positions as we try to expand our team of top-notch early childhood educators. Your experience in using a developmentally appropriate curriculum will serve to prepare children for a smooth transition to their next class. Your positive disposition and genuine love of children will assist the Bright Start team in educating, caring for, and learning from all of our kids each and every day!DutiesTA JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Interact with childrenPrepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks while teaching dining skills and mannersTeach children age-appropriate cognitive skillsHelp children get dressed, change diapers when needed, and assist in potty trainingAssist in evaluating children’s social development and physical well-beingAssist lead teacher in developing daycare curriculumsAssist in designing and imparting lessons catering to each student’s abilitiesProvide constant supervision of childrenEncourage children to take part in class and recreational activitiesModel communication skills during all activitiesPerform research activities to develop educational materials to aid classroom instructionAssist older children with family-style meals and use the facilitiesAssess the physical and emotional comfort of the children by providing them with a safe environmentOrganize entertainment classes such as fine arts, music, and dance lessons and encourage students to participateAssist in inventorying classroom supplies and educational equipmentMaintain a clean environment, toys, and educational equipmentHandle emergencies by employing knowledge of First Aid and CPRAdhere to the requirements and timelines expressed by the Lead TeacherCommunicate children’s status daily to parentsRequirementsRequirementsMust be at least 18 years oldMust have at least 1 year of job experience with children (Preferred but not required.)Must have a high school diploma, equivalent high school diploma or higherMust exhibit good communication skills through speaking, listening comprehension, and writingMust be able to perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.Must be Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid certified or able to become certifiedMust have basic computer skills to access emails, utilize the internet, and compose Word documents Nice To HavesChild care training Certification in Early ChildhoodSubstitute TeachingCPR/First Aid certificationsBenefitsHealth InsuranceLife InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePaid Time Off401(k)Professional Development AssistanceEmployee Discount
