Experienced Test & Evaluation Lab Technician (Test Operations)Company:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Metrology And Test Equipment Services (MATES) organization is looking for an Experienced Calibration Technician to join our Metrology team in New Orleans LA.This role will be responsible for using calibration standards to calibrate adjust certify maintain and repair Measurement Test & Equipment (MT&E)/process equipment using approved calibration procedures process specifications equipment drawings and M&TE /process equipment manufacturers performance specifications.In addition to Metrology responsibilities this role may also involve activities including but not limited to: logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote Boeing labs and suppliers for calibration services (shippers purchase contracts follow-up and supplier backlog management). This position may also involve aspects of Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging redeployment storage and surplus.Metrology And Test Equipment Services (MATES) provides a full spectrum of test asset and metrology services and support for internal customers and products through all phases of the product lifecycle. Services include: calibration/certification for dimensional/optics electrical/electronic and mechanical/physical measurement and test assets sourcing management measurement solutions repair & maintenance test asset selection and use acquisition allocation resource and lifecycle management and specialized test services.MATES is comprised of engineers technicians and administrative personnel who support programs sites business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle.Position Responsibilities:Plan check set up and operate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipmentConduct routine tests analyze data and document resultsTroubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problemsUpdate equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperworkEnsure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processesPrioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list hot list or as assigned by lead technicianPerform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wearIdentify document and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processesProvide information and clarification to customers on metrology processesWork with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE and assist in the development of new calibration processes and proceduresPerform computations necessary to analyze measurement test resultsPerform logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote Boeing labs and suppliers for calibration servicesPerform tasks associated with Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging redeployment storage and surplusBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):2 years of experience calibrating and/or using Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)2 years of experience in test assets or metrology2 years of experience using electronic test equipmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAssociates degree or higher and/or related military training in electronics and/or MetrologyMetrology experience in electrical parameters (not to exclude other parameters)5 years of experience in a calibration laboratoryAn active U.S. Secret or higher Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
