Extrusion Operator

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Extruder Operator you will be responsible for operating a pilot-scale extruder to support the development and commercialization of polymer composites. These materials serve industries such as automotive, aerospace, and 3D printing.

Hours & Compensation:

• Hours: 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.
• Pay Rate: $28$30/hour based on experience
• Location: Akron

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and operate the pilot-scale extruder for developing CNT-innovative materials.
• Scale up new processes and products with the goal of commercialization and successful sales.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects, reporting progress and results to technical management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including collaboration with supply chain partners and academic institutions.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members in extruder operation.

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required for all employees).
• 23 years of hands-on experience with laboratory, pilot, and/or production extruders is essential.
• Experience in polymer processing techniques (3D printing, blow molding, injection molding, fiber spinning) is advantageous.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), hazard analysis, PPE use, and safe chemical/equipment handling procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Safety Requirements:

• Steel-toed footwear required
• PPE (safety glasses lab coats gloves) are provided
