Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking a fabricator to become an integral team member of the dock leveler business.Key ResponsibilitiesWeld steel subassemblies to AWS B2.1/B2.1MCreate, prove out, and document dock leveler manufacturing process with emphasis on weldingActive member on the launch team implementing the welding, painting, and assembly processesAccountable for every aspect of their workCheck measurements and dimensions of each piece that’s being worked on with rulers, measuring tapes or squaresPlace each product component in its appropriate location as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment by using a hammer, pry bar, jack, wedge, or another toolMark spots to cut and use tools to manipulate steel, by cutting, hammering, bending, or grinding the workpieceReview blueprints, drawings, and other specification papers after starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completionManeuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, and shears, to cut, bend, grind and adjust materialsMake templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work qualitySkillsVersatile in performing different manufacturing tasks/duties.High school diploma or a GED equivalentAbility to comprehend blueprints, schematics, and work specificationsPhysical ability to lift at least 25 pounds or moreAWS B2.1/B21M Qualified welderExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5SAnalytical problem solverAble to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely mannerFamiliar with ERP systems and concepts, SAP preferredEffective communicatorEffective teammateEssential Physical Functions:Be able to safely lift or move at least 50 lbs.Be able to safely climb stairs or ladder.Be able to work in cold or hot working conditionsMust be able to Bend, Stoop, Squat, KneelEquipment Used:The candidate may be required to use a variety of hand tools such as saws, drills, impact drivers, saws, pneumatic air guns, and tape measures.
