Facilities Plant Mechanical EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Facilities Plant Mechanical Engineer (Level 2) to support the Facilities Maintenance team onsite in Portland Oregon.Position Responsibilities:Develops basic routine conceptual designs final designs cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the mechanical phases of buildings equipment installations utility systems and groundsAligns mechanical designs with customer requirements building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles practices and materialsWith limited supervision ensures accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlinesIdentifies errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements facility standards and record retention requirementsWith limited supervision prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectivesWith limited supervision produces or procures detailed design documentsUses appropriate resources to produce project drawings specifications and permit application packages in accordance with project parametersWith limited supervision translates customer requirements into design options with documents and estimatesIdentifies appropriate materials equipment and services by applying engineering principles and methodologyWith limited supervision provides input to infrastructure planning; completes studies; analyzes current conditions and future requirements; recommends capital improvements; gathers and analyzes data; and works with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impactsParticipates in projects requiring interdisciplinary engineering supportEstimates resource costs/requirements identifies materials equipment and services and develops preliminary project schedule in order to establish project scopeWith limited supervision plans manages and executes projects or selected project elementsAcquires and modifies assets to enable the customer to achieve the defined business objectives in accordance with company and accounting policiesManages project expenditures within authorized budgetsAssists in the creation of contract scopeEnsures suppliers comply with all contract obligationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics chemistry or other technical degree1 years of experience in interpreting mechanical engineering drawings schematics and definition1 years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams1 years of experience in mechanical designPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3 years of experience leading construction projects3 years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts3 years of experience complying with industry standards including electrical and safety codes3 years of experience developing and managing budgets and/or cost estimates3 years of experience with budgeting and forecastingExperience with mechanical and/or structural engineering systemsAbility to look forward strategically and develop detailed solutions and specificationsDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana cocaine opioids amphetamines PCP and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Union:This is a union-represented position.Shift:This role is primarily first shift; however there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract engage and retain the top talent.
