Facilities Specialist

As a Facilities Specialist in our physical retail location, you'll take ownership of the systems and equipment that keep our space running. Whether you're fine-tuning equipment, troubleshooting HVAC issues, or mentoring others on the team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and polished store environment. This role is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who thrives on independence, problem-solving, and making things work behind the scenes.

What Does a Facilities Specialist Do?

Independently diagnose and repair systems across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and mechanical areas, often with minimal supervision.

Maintain and troubleshoot systems and complex material handling equipment. Proficiency with relay logic, ladder diagrams, sensors, drives, and inverters is key.

Serve as a mentor to fellow team members by providing real-time coaching and technical guidance to improve skills and performance.

Contribute to the design, layout, and reconfiguration of facility systems as needed to support evolving business needs.

Use our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to plan, track, and complete work orders and preventative maintenance.

Regularly work on aerial lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks to reach all areas of the facility.

Maintain a tidy, well-stocked workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.

Perform emergency repairs during high-pressure situations while adhering to all safety protocols.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

46 years of experience in facilities or maintenance roles (preferred), ideally in a retail, distribution, or manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and perform diagnostics on high-voltage systems (120, 240, 480 VAC) and low-voltage DC (24VDC).

Skilled with hand and power tools, multimeters, and computer-based diagnostics.

Familiarity with PLC systems, HVAC components, and fire protection systems.

Able to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and work on your feet for long periods, often in a non-climate-controlled environment.

High level of accuracy when performing repairs and maintaining records.

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled overtime, as needed.

Follows lockout/tagout procedures and wears personal protective equipment (PPE), including arc flash gear and safety shoes.

Additional physical and environmental requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.

Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.

Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.

Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.

Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazardsmust adhere to all safety protocols.
