Facility Manager at Silver State Defense, LLC
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated facility manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of a rural property and working ranch. This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and working independently in an outdoor environment.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable with equipment, and takes pride in keeping a property running safely, efficiently, and cleanly.
Key Responsibilities Property & Facility Management- Maintain buildings, barns, fencing, gates, roads, and infrastructure
- Perform routine inspections of the property to identify issues before they become problems
- Coordinate and oversee repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facilities and work areas
- Operate and maintain ranch equipment (UTVs, tractors, trailers, tools, pumps, etc.)
- Perform basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting
- Maintain fuel, tools, parts, and maintenance logs
- Ensure safe operation and storage of all equipment
- Manage landscaping, grading, and basic earthwork as needed
- Clear debris, maintain access roads, and manage erosion or drainage issues
- Assist with construction or improvement projects (fencing, shelters, pads, structures)
- Enforce safety protocols for equipment, facilities, and property access
- Identify hazards and take corrective action
- Ensure property remains compliant with local requirements when applicable
- Prioritize daily and weekly tasks independently
- Communicate issues, progress, and needs to ownership
- Assist with special projects, events, or property upgrades
- Morning property walk-through and inspections
- Equipment checks and maintenance
- Repairs and troubleshooting (plumbing, fencing, electrical basics, pumps, gates)
- Groundskeeping and cleanup
- Managing deliveries and materials
- Monitoring water systems, tanks, and infrastructure
- End-of-day cleanup and securing of facilities
- Previous ranch, farm, facilities, construction, or maintenance experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically capable of lifting, digging, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather
- Valid drivers license
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license
