Job Description

The Facility Security and Safety Specialist ensures the safety and security of our food distribution facilities. The primary focus of the role is to ensure that our facilities are secure and maintained for the protection of life and property preservation of our food defense plan enforcement of laws and regulations emergency management planning facility security personnel clearances and continuous employee training & development. The Facility Security and Safety Specialist coordinates with internal teams and external agencies to uphold safety & security standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (any combination of the following job duties):Promotes a Safety Focused culture throughout the company that incorporates operations transportation and safetyOperate with strong communication interpersonal problem solving and innovative thinking skillsEnsuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulationsConduct daily security operations (patrols access control surveillance)Creating security reports for the management on organizations current security statusDevelop implement and update security policies and proceduresPerform periodic site risk assessments and provide recommended improvementsEnsure compliance with local state and federal safety/security regulationsMonitor alarm systems CCTV and other security technologiesEnsure implementation of effective facility and security management policies across the business; act as first point of contact regarding security proceduresCollaborate with Safety HR and Food Safety to develop an on-going program to ensure employee awareness and compliance to our Security policies & proceduresConduct regular audits to ensure compliance with food handling and warehouse security standardsRespond to and investigate facility security breaches thefts or workplace security incidentsManage contractor/vendor program by being responsible for badge issuance visitor logs safety induction and contractor access to ensure traceability and accountabilityTrain employees on security protocols and emergency proceduresCoordinating with the external security staff to ensure company needs are metAudit facility security systems and recommend upgradesTrack and analyze incident trends to improve prevention strategiesStay updated on emerging threats and best practices in facility securityMonitor access control systems & key management program to prevent unauthorized entry and contamination risksPeripheral Duties:Maintain logs draft incident reports and assist with compliance documentationHelp coordinate safety drills onboarding sessions or refresher courses for employeesLiaise with contractors for maintenance of security systems alarms or safety equipmentTrack and manage supplies such as PPE first aid kits fire extinguishers and emergency toolsRemind staff of safety protocols distribute updated guidelines and encourage complianceEnvironmental inspections such as check lighting signage and hazard controls to support a safe workplacePerform routine inspections of CCTV badge readers and alarm systems to ensure functionalityWork with HR facility maintenance and safety committees on cross-departmental initiativesQualifications : State-prescribed security training licensing and registration2 years of experience in security safety or risk management rolesStrong knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV access control alarms)Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situationsFamiliarity with OSHA local safety regulations and compliance standardsExtensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performing access controlKnowledge of security industry regulationsCurrent driving license and driving record in good standing preferredAble to safely work outdoors in varying weather conditionsMust be able to read write and speak English fluentlyIntermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties/ pivot tablesIntermediate MS Outlook skills for regular communication with peersMust be able to assist a diverse workforce and communicate clearly with various levels of management  Additional Information : All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.This is a safety-sensitive position.This employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social Security Administration and if necessary the Department of Homeland Security with information from each new employees Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.We do not provide H1-B sponsorships at this time.Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
