About the JobThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences is seeking a full-time board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist or Neurologist with fellowship-training in neuro-ophthalmology. The position will include an active clinical practice at the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis MN. This position will be on the Academic Track hiring at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.The position will require supervising mentoring and teaching medical students residents and fellows along with other curriculum development responsibilities. The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidates career interests and goals. QualificationsGraduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology or Neurology residency andfellowship training program inneuro-ophthalmologyBoard eligible/certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology or NeurologyLicensed or ability to obtain the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice LicensureAbility to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of MinnesotaMeet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and PrivilegesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staffUnderstands and places importance on patient care/serviceAbout the DepartmentThe missions of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences are teaching research service and provision of excellent clinical service. Primary academic missions of the department are to teach medical students post-M.D. trainees (residents and fellows) and students in allied health programs and to advance knowledge in ophthalmology through basic scientific and clinical research endeavors.More at and BenefitsPay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired and begins at $58000. Clinical salary aligned with clinical effort is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary at the Assistant Professor rank will be $300000. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
