Collaborative opportunities exist with institutions such as the Atlanta VA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Georgia Institute of Technology Shepherd Center and the Emory Healthcare System.Position Summary:The Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University invites applications for a full-time open-rank faculty position with a primary emphasis on teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. We are seeking candidates who are passionate educators and committed to advancing physical therapy education through excellence in instruction mentorship and service. Candidates must be licensed in the state of Georgia or eligible of licensure in Georgia. Candidates with additional training and qualifications such as ABPTS- board-certified specialist or residency training with domain expertise in geriatrics will be prioritized. This is an on-site position in Atlanta GA.Qualifications and Responsibilities:Candidates must hold a terminal doctorate (PhD EdD ScD or equivalent) in a relevant field and be eligible for physical therapy licensure in Georgia. ABD candidates will be considered with a clearly defined plan for degree completion. Preferred qualifications include but are not limited to residency training fellowships and/or specialty certification (e.g. ABPTS-recognized) in one or more of the following domains: geriatric physical therapy (e.g. GCS) or integumentary/wound management (e.g. Certified Wound Specialist or ABPTS Certified Wound Management Clinical Specialist).Experience teaching in a DPT or related health professions program and/or evidence of scholarly engagement is highly desirable. The successful candidate will contribute primarily to teaching in the DPT curriculum advise and mentor students and participate in curriculum development and service activities.
