Family Caseworker - AdoptionsLocation/Schedule:Winston-Salem Campus; hours are 1st shift Monday-Friday though the schedule is flexible based on client/family needs. This role blends office collaboration and remote flexibility - on-site 2-3 days a week with the option to work from home when not in the office or traveling to family homes. Travel will also include various areas/counties an agency vehicle or mileage reimbursement is available.Your Impact:As our Family Caseworker Adoptions youll play a pivotal role in helping children move from uncertainty into permanency. Youll support prospective adoptive families walk alongside them through the home study and placement process and collaborate with our state and county partners to ensure every child is matched with a family who will walk with them for life. Your work directly shapes a childs futureand strengthens the broader fabric of resilience in our communities. This role offers the rare opportunity to blend relationship-building clinical insight compliance expertise and creative problem-solving within a supportive trauma-informed care environment. Hiring Range:$42700 to $48500 annually - Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Minimum of two years experience in working with children and families requiredPrior foster care licensing and case management experience preferredPrior adoptions experience preferredSkills and Competencies:The ideal Family Caseworker Adoptions brings a balance of heart structure adaptability and sound judgment. Essential competencies include:Working knowledge of child welfare foster care adoption and mental health systemsStrong ability to build trust and maintain relationships with families DSS partners and community agenciesDiscretion independent decision-making and ethical judgementCrisis response skills and comfort supporting families through emotionally complex situationsCultural humility and the ability to work with individuals of all identities and backgroundsExceptional communicationwritten verbal and interpersonalStrong organizational and multitasking skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Google Workspace and client data systemsAbility to maintain accurate records and documentation according to state standardsComfort with public speaking marketing and representing Crossnore at community eventsCreative thinking flexibility and a sense of humorValid drivers license and willingness to travelCommitment to trauma-informed care and ongoing professional developmentKey Responsibilities:Family Licensing & SupportProvide regular supervision and support to foster/adoptive parents to ensure high-quality careShare educational resources and coach families on meeting childrens developmental and educational needsComplete licensing evaluations quarterly visits and annual assessmentsConduct required home visits following state licensing regulationsSupport recruitment training and education of prospective adoptive familiesParticipate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for crisis consultationCollect and review outcome data relevant to licensing and adoption workAdoption ServicesRecruit and retain adoptive families through outreach events information nights and community partnershipsComplete home studies assessments and written Pre-placement AssessmentsPrepare children and families for adoption identifying strengths challenges and support needsProvide excellent customer service to prospective familiesby phone email and in personOffer pre- and post-adoption support to prevent disruption and promote permanencyPromote Crossnores adoption program across the regionNetwork with DSS and other agencies to present families for matching opportunitiesCoordinate presentations visits placement activities and post-placement supportMaintain compliant and up-to-date documentation for all adoptive and pre-adoptive familiesAssist with reports statistics policies procedures and workflow improvementsMonitor adoption-related expenses and revenueAttend statewide and regional adoption-focused meetingsCase ManagementProvide thorough case management ensuring childrens needs are metDevelop person-centered plans crisis plans and service plansLead monthly Child & Family Team meetingsAttend staffings and clinical meetings to coordinate treatmentSupervise individualized therapeutic interventionsProvide monthly client contacts as requiredAdvocate for children by coordinating services and treatment planningDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate timely documentation according to state standardsDocument supervisory meetings corrective actions family visits training and evaluationsEnsure licensing and personnel file complianceSubmit all required authorizations and paperwork on timeMaintain electronic records in EHR and BintiCommunication & CollaborationBuild strong working relationships with DSS providers and community partnersCommunicate effectively respond well to supervision and work independentlyAttend required meetings assessments and appointmentsServe on committees and community workgroupsSupport public relations and outreach effortsPerform other agency-aligned duties as assignedMay involve engagement with clients and/or family members in crisis or exhibiting challenging behaviors requiring calm trauma-informed responses.Note: This job ad is a summary of the position and its requirements.
