We are looking for a high-octane, experienced Family Law Attorney (5+ years) who is tired of the status quo and ready to make a measurable dent in the universe (or at least, in our legal community).
The Mission
You aren't here to just meet a billable quota. You are here to lead. As a member of our team, you will manage complex domestic relations matters from inception to final decree, providing sophisticated legal strategy while maintaining the "human touch" clients rave about.
Compensation:$130,000 - $200,000+ yearly
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Charge: Take primary responsibility for a diverse caseload, including high-net-worth divorce, complex custody battles, and intricate asset division.
- Be the Strategist: Develop creative, winning litigation and settlement strategies that others might miss.
- Mentor & Grow: Act as a go-to resource for associates and help shape the firm's culture and processes.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including prenuptial agreements, divorce petitions, and parenting plans.
- Provide clear, compassionate guidance to clients navigating sensitive family law matters, fostering trust and understanding.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external experts to build strong cases and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Maintain detailed case files and documentation, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Advocate for clients in high-stress situations, using negotiation and conflict resolution skills to reach amicable solutions when possible.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- At least 5 years of experience in family law, with a focus on divorce, child custody, and high asset complex cases. You know the statutes like the back of your hand.
- Courtroom Presence. You view the courtroom as your second home and have the trial record to prove it.
- Mindset. You are proactive, not reactive. You look for solutions before problems arise.
- Communication. You can explain complex legal jargon to a stressed client with empathy and clarity.
- Ability to draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and marital settlement agreements with precision.
- Proven track record of representing clients in court proceedings, demonstrating strong advocacy skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with paralegals and senior partners to ensure efficient case management.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain and update client files accurately and promptly.
- Experience in handling the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
- Ability to remain composed and negotiate effectively in high-stress, emotionally charged situations involving sensitive legal issues.
