The Role
As our Mentoring Family Law Attorney, you will serve as a leader within the firm and a key partner to ownership in shaping the future of the family law department.
You will:
Lead the Family Law Team
- Provide legal guidance and oversight
- Ensure quality and consistency across matters
- Support strategic decision-making on complex cases
- Maintain high standards of client service
Mentor & Develop Attorneys
- Train and support associate attorneys
- Help develop litigation, courtroom, and client-management skills
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development
Drive Case Strategy
- Handle a sophisticated family law caseload
- Assist with high-conflict and complex matters
- Collaborate on litigation strategy
- Support trial preparation and courtroom advocacy
Help Build the Future
- Improve systems and workflows
- Contribute to hiring and attorney development
- Partner with firm leadership on growth initiatives
- Help create a high-performing, healthy team culture

Qualifications Required
- Active Washington State Bar License in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of Washington family law experience
- Significant litigation and courtroom experience
- Experience handling contested family law matters
- Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience
Preferred
- 10+ years of Washington family law experience
- Prior Managing Attorney or Supervising Attorney experience
- Trial experience in complex family law matters
- Experience mentoring attorneys and legal staff
- Existing referral relationships within the Spokane legal community
Compensation
Base Salary
$150,000-$200,000
Compensation will be determined based on experience, leadership background, litigation experience, and overall qualifications.
