We re seeking a Board-Certified (or Board-Eligible) Physician to step into a leadership role at a secure correctional facility in California City, CA. Whether your background is in primary care, emergency medicine, or hospitalist work if you ve got strong leadership instincts and thrive under pressure, we want to talk to you.Clinical Care & OversightProvide comprehensive medical services, from exams and prescriptions to diagnosis and follow-upsTriage and manage chronic, urgent, and emergent conditionsPromote preventive care and health educationPerform minor procedures and provide general medical counselingProgram LeadershipLead and mentor clinical staff across all levelsCreate and enforce evidence-based treatment protocolsCollaborate closely with nursing, mental health, and administrative teamsEnsure quality improvement and compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and JCAHO standardsOperational & Regulatory ResponsibilitiesMaintain complete and accurate documentationAssist in audits, utilization management, and policy developmentParticipate in investigations, compliance reviews, and institutional hearingsMonitor hospitalizations and coordinate early discharges when appropriateSafety & EnvironmentUphold professional conduct during high-pressure or challenging interactionsParticipate in emergency response and safety drillsEnsure secure handling of all medical records and equipment Minimum RequirementsM.D. or D.O. from an accredited programActive, unrestricted physician license in California (or ability to obtain)Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency MedicineCurrent DEA license with prescriptive authorityCPR/BLS certificationPreferred Qualifications5+ years of clinical experience, ideally in correctional health, emergency care, or underserved settingsPrior supervisory or leadership experience highly valuedFamiliarity with minor procedures, chronic care, and urgent medical managementProficiency in EHR documentation and cross-functional communicationCompetitive Salary: $275K $325K annually60-Day Income GuaranteeAutonomy & Leadership: Make executive-level decisions in patient care and clinical programsMeaningful Mission: Serve a population in need while shaping systemic care standardsNo marketing or census-building pressure this is a medicine-first, mission-driven roleOther Details:On-call responsibilities requiredU.S. travel may occasionally be requiredMust be able to pass all facility-specific background and security clearancesInterested?This isn t just another job it s a chance to lead, influence, and provide care where it matters most.
