*$1000 Hiring BonusAdditional $1500 Spanish Speaking Bonus*QUALIFICATIONS Education & ExperienceFamily Specialist IBachelors degree plus 4 years of direct experience* working with children or families with complex needs. Preferred education emphasis in human services counseling guidance social work etc. ORAA degree plus 6 years of direct experience* working with children or families with complex needs. Preferred education emphasis in human services counseling guidance social work etc.*approved experience is experience that qualifies the applicant for Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHRS) status in the County Childrens Mental Health System of CareFamily Specialist IIMasters degree in Social Work Counseling or Psychology with LMFT LPCC or LCSW license or license eligibility ORMasters degree in a related field ANDAt least 2 years of approved experience**approved experience is experience that qualifies the applicant for Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) status in the County Childrens Mental Health System of CareESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPosition SpecificParticipates in the development of individualized family plans with members of the Child and Family Team and/or treatment teamWrites clear accurate and timely progress notes consistent with each contact/visitProvides and documents all Medi-Cal eligible billable and non-billable services including but not limited to assessment plan development group session collateral rehabilitation In Home Based Services (IHBS) case management Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and crisis intervention within required timelines as required by the Agency the County Childrens Behavioral Health and/or Contract AgenciesAttends weekly staff meetings supervision and case management staff meetings as scheduledAccountable for independent time managementDevelops and maintains positive relationships with agency and community partnersUtilizes resources to implement behavior interventions and strategiesForms positive constructive relationships with children and their familiesCommunicates effectively with all members of the Child and Family Team and/or treatment teamMaintains positive relationships with consumers and customersIdentifies strengths skills and positive qualities in children and familiesIdentifies temporary and sustainable resources and services within family and community environmentsAssists families with transitions from resources provided or funded by the formal program to resources and services provided or funded by the family and communityParticipates in the Internal Utilization Review process and other peer-review mechanisms providing feedback to colleagues accepting feedback from colleagues and promptly responding to recommendationsDocuments the plan development process by recording and distributing minutes of CFT and/or family planning meetings and writing progress notesPerforms tasks and services as assigned in individualized plans. Tasks may include but are not limited to:Encouraging and engaging in tasks or activities that support or spark identified strengths skills and positive qualities in children and familiesProblem-solving with children and families including outlining alternatives and predicting consequences while supporting children and families to make good choices for themselves. Teaching specified skills to children and familiesPerforming day-to-day tasks that support family functioning (including transportation meal preparation short-term supervision reminder calls and other tasks)Modeling appropriate behavior to direct families toward identified goalsParticipating in healthy group dynamics within various settings including family homes schools parks and recreation centers and treatment facilitiesPerforming other tasks identified in individualized plansMaintains accurate and timely recordsFollows all agency policies and proceduresFollows all agency state and federal health and safety rules and regulationsAdheres to all confidentiality requirementsSeeks out clinical information and advice as needed accepts constructive criticism and reasonable recommendations from supervisorsMentors new Family Support Specialists/Family SpecialistsAbility to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the familiesParticipates in the agency 24 hour on-call programsAgency SpecificPerforms all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics the agencys policies and procedures contractor requirements and regulatory requirements.Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agencys Mission Vision and ValuesWork collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as neededUtilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkersParticipate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skillsPerform other duties as necessary for the agency as assignedEmployment At-WillEmployment at the Agency is terminable at-will which means that employment may beterminated at any time without cause or reason by either the employee or the addition the Agency may also demote layoff transfer or reassign employees at any time at itssole discretion without cause or reasonCheck out our Diversity Equity & Inclusion Statement full salary range for this role is posted here.
