POSITION SPECIFICSThe Security Services Office of The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to join our Security Services Office at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. ARL Security Services mission is to ensure the security of ARL personnel facilities material and information as an agile efficient and service-driven team.ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.You will:Provide agile and efficient document control support and customer service to all organizational groups and personnel in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environmentAssist with the development of industrial security practices procedures process trainings and briefings while ensuring compliance with government policies and regulationsPrepare for and represent ARL in all aspects of document control inspections and oversight by U.S. government (USG) agenciesAssist with periodic inventories and inspectionsReview controlled items for proper inventory numbers and other required markingsPrepare a wide variety of controlled material such as documents hard drives circuit boards microchips and other hardware to be sent to approved destruction facilitiesConduct records searches which include verification scanning and/or filing of physical and electronic recordsRequired skills and experience include:Demonstrated understanding of how to correctly identify mark and store classified documents and hardwareHandling and safeguarding Controlled Unclassified InformationSuccess in an office environment where various forms of communication and organizational skills are crucial to be effectiveAbility to consistently comply with rules and regulationsAbility to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearanceMicrosoft Office software databases and web applicationsPast success working autonomously and effectively in fast-paced environmentPreferred skills and experience include:A Bachelors degree in Security Risk Management/Analysis Business Administration or Library ScienceSecurity Information Management System (SIMS)Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility if requiredNational Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) specifically safeguarding classified informationDoD or USG-based industrial securityDigital archiving and records managementYour working location will be fully on-site located in State College PA.
