Job Title: Federal Work Study - Legal Affairs & Compliance Location: Middle GA State University Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 291608 About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary The student will be working in the Office of Legal Affairs & Compliance which includes the following individuals: MGA General Counsel and Assistant Vice President of Institutional Planning and Strategy, MGA Compliance Coordinator, and the Executive Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX. The student may also be asked to cover the desk outside the President's office. The student will be responsible for creating a file management system, organizing and filing existing documents. The student may also be responsible for conducting online research in the areas of higher education policy and procedures. If asked to cover the desk for the Office of the President, the student would be responsible for greeting guest of the Office of the President and facilitating their visit. Additionally, the student may be asked to cover the badge entry camera system for the Administration Building. Responsibilities Perform clerical or data entry tasks and file important documents accordingly.Demonstrate excellent organizational and document management skills.Be proficient in Word and Excel sufficient to satisfy creating file management system. Prepare outgoing mail as assigned.Support the front office staff, covering the reception area, as needed.Copy, sort, and compile various documents.Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.Maintain his/her academic work load while handling a work study job opportunity.Must be dependable and prompt.Must adhere to the code of confidentiality.Be cordial to all students, staff, faculty and visitors entering the office.Required Qualifications Minimum GPA of 2.5Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hoursStudents must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities A student worker must have knowledge of computers and different software programs.Any prior job experience in an office environment is helpful, but not necessary.Student is required to retain Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality.
