Job Title: Federal Work Study - Library Assistant (Floyd Campus) Location: GHC - Floyd Campus Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 282640 Job Summary The FWS Student Assistant position provides support for various functions within the library and testing work environments and offers excellent opportunities for students to grow their skills while furthering their education.Responsibilities Provide customer service to library users in person and by phoneUtilize library management system (LMS) to process borrowing and returning of library materialsBasic reference duties, such as answering questions on basic searching, technology, college, information, directions, and similar tasksMaintenance of physical library materials, such as shelving, shifting books, shelf reading, and inventoryAssists with display creation and maintenance as well as posting of marketing materialsSupports and maintains the professional appearance of the library and/or testing centerMaintain and collect data on library use as directedProvides general office and administrative support assistanceMaintains the confidentiality of all patron records for the library and/or testing centerWillingness to learn job-related skills and systems including new technology, policy and procedurePerforms related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications • Must be currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College• Must be Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)• Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)• Must have an unmet need based on total cost of attendance of studentProposed Salary $12 per hourOptional Documents to Attach ResumeCover LetterKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Some knowledge of interpersonal communicationSome knowledge of customer service skills and practicesAbility to learn software programs used by GHCAbility to learn library and college policies and proceduresContact Information For more information or questions about a job posting, please contact Human Resources by email at [email protected] technical support, please contact the Shared Services Center at (877) 251-2644 or [email protected] Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
