Department:Academic Support & SuccessCompensation:$8.25 per hour (max. 20 hours per week)Schedule: Varies based on department need and the students class schedulePosition Summary:The duties of a front desk assistant in Academic Support and Success are to provide excellent customer service to students faculty and staff direct students to the appropriate tutor or staff member ensure that students are checked in/out of Navigate and to assist with monitoring the SSC 2nd floor. Front desk assistants must have strong communication skills and should be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Understanding and compliance of FERPA is mandatory.Front desk assistants must be available for all mandatory training sessions meetings and workshops. They must be flexible and available to work outside of their class schedules they must be dependable and they must be punctual for their shifts. All front desk assistants are expected to work well with their peers in an academic environment and Support and Success tutoring SI student resources and other campus service departments is expected.Positions may be filled based on individual applicants skills qualifications and departmental needs.Adherence to all department and University policies and procedures is required.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide excellent customer service to students faculty and staffWork cooperatively with a diverse body of faculty staff and studentsDirect students to the appropriate tutor or staff member in the SSCEnsure that students are checked in/out of Navigate360Assist with monitoring the SSC 2nd floorMust have strong communication skillsMust be able to multitask in a fast-paced environmentMaintain confidentiality of informationAdditional duties as required by the departmentMinimum Qualifications:Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least six (3) hours per fall or spring semester.
