In addition to hardware, our stores support customers with horse and livestock feed, poultry supplies, pet products, and farm accounts, making us a trusted destination for homeowners, hobbyists, and agricultural customers alike.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Feed & Farm Retail Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of livestock nutrition, feed programs, and agricultural retail operations, who can confidently support both everyday customers and established farm accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide expert-level customer service and product guidance in horse feed, livestock feed, poultry supplies, and agricultural products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with farm and bulk account customers, offering tailored recommendations and solutions.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate feed programs, supplements, and care products based on animal needs and conditions.
  • Oversee and maintain feed and agricultural departments, ensuring products are properly stocked, rotated, and merchandised.
  • Assist with unloading trucks and handling bulk inventory, including feed pallets and large agricultural shipments.
  • Coordinate and manage special orders and bulk purchases for farm customers.
  • Support store operations including POS transactions, inventory control, and merchandising.
  • Train and mentor team members in feed knowledge, product use, and customer service best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of seasonal trends, product changes, and agricultural needs within the community.
  • Assist customers with loading heavy items such as feed bags, fencing, and farm supplies.
  • Work closely with management to support sales growth in feed and farm categories.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum 10 years of retail experience in a feed store, farm supply store, or agricultural retail environment (required).
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Horse and livestock nutrition
    • Poultry care and feed
    • Pet feed and supplements
    • Farm and agricultural supply products
  • Experience working with farm accounts and bulk customers strongly preferred.
  • Ability to confidently advise customers and troubleshoot product needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven reliability and consistent attendance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly (feed bags, bulk items).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, stacking, and loading.
  • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor conditions.
