Description:

GSM Industrial in Lancaster PA, is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead and optimize our field operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring successful project execution, developing strong field leadership, and driving operational efficiency across all active job sites. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with industrial experience who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and is passionate about building high-performing teams.


What You'll Do


Lead Field Operations
  • Oversee field project schedules and workforce planning
  • Coordinate labor, subcontractors, equipment, and logistics
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Adapt quickly to changing project needs and resolve field challenges
Develop & Support Teams
  • Recruit, hire, and lead Foremen and Superintendents
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment
  • Maintain strong jobsite presence to support and engage teams
Drive Performance & Strategy
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with leadership on operational priorities and growth efforts
Ensure Compliance & Organization
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee field equipment, tools, and inventory
  • Support accurate recordkeeping for field employees and operations
  • Follow company policies, SOPs, and ERP processes
Collaborate Across Teams
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Account Managers, and Shop Leadership
  • Support project planning, execution, and customer communication
  • Align field and shop manpower to meet project demands
Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial, mechanical, or construction-related field
  • 4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of field operations, fabrication, or installation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when required
  • Ability to work in industrial and field environments
