Field Service Electrical Technician at Keller Electrical

Job DescriptionJob Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician III to join our team. This role requires advanced knowledge in troubleshooting and maintaining variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and 480-volt motor control systems in industrial or commercial environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of complex electrical systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain VFDs from major manufacturers (e.g. Toshiba, AllenBradley, ABB, Siemens, etc.)• Perform diagnostics and maintenance on PLC-based control systems• Install, wire, and test 480V motor controls and related equipment• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation• Execute preventive maintenance routines and document all work performed• Work independently or with a team on control system upgrades, installations, and emergency repairs• Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards• Assist in the commissioning of new systems and support start-up operations Qualifications:• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or commercial electrical setting• Strong proficiency in troubleshooting VFDs and motor control systems• Experience working with and programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)• Ability to safely work with 480V systems and understand lockout/tagout procedures• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills• Strong attention to detail and documentation• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas when requiredPreferred Certifications (not required but a plus):• Journeyman or Master Electrician License• OSHA 10/30 Certification• VFD and/or PLC manufacturer-specific training or certificationBenefits:• Competitive pay• Health, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with employer match• Paid time off and holidays• Ongoing training and development opportunities
