Position Overview
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the providing field service and support (installation, maintenance, and repair) of mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic systems on marine equipment, such as electro-hydraulic steering, engine controls, vessel automation, and related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting complex systems and ensuring optimal functionality through hands-on support and technical expertise.

This role involves troubleshooting complex systems and ensuring optimal functionality through hands-on support and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems on vessels.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment using various test equipment and tools.
- Provide technical support for PLC and HMI systems, ensuring efficient automated operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service.
- Document service activities and report on equipment condition and performance.
Qualifications
- Vocational training in electronics or Associate degree through technical school preferred.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role in electronics.
- Experience in the marine industry a PLUS!
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on marine and industrial applications.
- Familiarity with PLC and HMI troubleshooting, programming and operation.
- Experience using volt meters and other test equipment for diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently and travel to various job sites as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license - must be comfortable traveling throughout territory if necessary (Lake Charles to South Texas)
