OverviewThe Vermont Department of Public Service (PSD) is seeking a Financial Administrator I to join the Administrative Services Division.This position will be responsible for financial, administrative and clerical work. Duties may include:Preparing financial reportsMaintaining accurate accounting and financial recordsProcessing invoices for paymentsTracking expenditures and generating reportsPreapring journal vouchersManaging correspondencePublic records managementThis role requires an understanding of accepted accounting principles, internal controls, and federal grants management guidance is desired. The work requires a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. The position is based in Montpelier.Who May ApplyThis position, Financial Administrator I - Limited Service (Job Requisition #53911), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through 08/31/2029. You must apply online to be considered.Environmental FactorsWork is performed in a standard office setting.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration.ORAssociate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two (2) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.ORHigh School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.OROne (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont.Preferred QualificationsAll levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standards.Special RequirementsFor some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
