Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTraveling Alarm TechnicianThis is a travel position up to 75% of the time from your home location.We are searching for motivated and dependable Alarm Technicians for service and specialized installation projects within a 4-6 hour radius where you live. Travel of 2-3 weeks at a time is normal unless otherwise specified. A company car is provided and you will work nights and day shifts as specified, so being comfortable with overnight shifts is a must.Travel will be 4 -6 hours from your home with hotels and gas covered as well as a per diem each day.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are available for qualified individuals. We place great emphasis on fostering strong relationships and investing in the development of our employees.Responsibilities:Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of cabling systems and equipment in various technologiesRunning low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including concrete wall drilling and conduit bendingCompleting wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure customer satisfaction and contractual complianceInstalling, repairing, or upgrading fire alarm systems in accordance with building plans and electrical layoutsMounting sensors at designated locations and ensuring proper wiring and connectionsTesting newly installed systems to verify operational statusCollaborating with team leads and project managers to ensure timely completion of tasksConducting tests to ensure compliance with relevant codes and legal requirementsTroubleshooting new system installations to ensure functionality and complianceRequirements for all levels:Experience in field installations within security environments (Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Access Control)Comfort with working at heights using liftsProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and site mapsExperience with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers is advantageousAbility to assist in designing and planning technical solutionsInstallation proficiency in fire alarm and burglar alarm systems (e.g., Bosch, Honeywell, Silent Knight, Kidde, EST, DMP, etc.)Effective communication skills for interaction with project managers, customers, and techniciansProficiency in troubleshooting and providing technical support both on-site and remotelyStrong customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and writtenCompetence in using computers, laptops, and smartphonesClean driving record and valid driver's licenseRequirements for Lead level:NICET 1-2 certification or higherValid state-required Physical Security or Life Safety licenses (e.g. FASA)Benefits Package:Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Prescription & Vision CoverageLife, AD&D, and LTD InsuranceGenerous Paid Vacation and HolidaysMatching 401K and IRA Retirement PlansPer-Diem for Overnight TravelReimbursement for Drive Time and MileageProvision of Company Vehicles after an Initial Training PeriodCompensation:$25-$45 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and a successful interview
