JOB DESCRIPTION
Fire Protection Estimator
Location: Pewaukee, WI
Compensation: $60,000 - $140,000 annually (DOE)
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Protection Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and related documentation to develop accurate cost estimates for fire sprinkler system projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales, project management, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bids while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for fire sprinkler systems.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop competitive bids.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate proposals and cost breakdowns.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare bid submissions and communicate bid participation to customers.
- Participate in project planning meetings and assist with project documentation and drawing reviews.
- Conduct periodic reviews of estimated versus actual project costs and recommend improvements to estimating processes.
- Support Project Managers with forecasting and cost-at-completion analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and bid documents.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of estimating experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to work in an office environment and visit construction sites as needed.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Previous experience estimating fire sprinkler system projects.
- Knowledge of fire protection industry standards and construction processes.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to construction sites and outdoor project locations.
