Our FSD’s are responsible for providing professional customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and the property they protect and the staff that they may lead. ResponsibilitiesA true Leader positionMaintain a professional demeanor while leading staff and aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guestsMaintain a visible presence in the facility / building assignedMonitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activityResponsible for becoming familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, know the customers, tenants, visitors, and guestsAnswer all phones in a professional manner and demonstrate ability to perform clear and audible announcementsPermit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exitsKnow the facility / building policies and procedures, and enforce them within the limits of the positionFollow established emergency action planning, procedures, fire protection, and safety standardsMonitor alarms and systems as requiredMay perform operations related functions to include; scheduling, overtime management, review of daily logs and incident reports, training and development of staff, as requiredTest and inspect fire extinguishers and other fire protections devices to ensure compliance to fire and safety standardsDiscusses violations and unsafe conditions with site representativePrepares reports, such as inspections performed, standards violations, and recommendations for eliminating fire hazardsMaintains records and logs, as required by lawMaybe called upon to perform fire-fighting duties during emergenciesMay train others in fire emergency response plansAssists in fire drills, as required May perform other inspections, and safety duties as requiredMay perform additional security services functions, as permitted under any required Security Officer license and as specified for the assigned site(s), in addition to Fire Inspector dutiesThe essential duties and responsibilities may differ by customer location assignedQualificationsState or municipality mandated security officer licensesMinimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalentMust have Fire Safety Directors licenseKnowledge of or ability to learn fire inspection operations, and proceduresMust have reliable means of communication and transportationStrong interpersonal communication skillsMust have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable periodPrevious contract security, law enforcement, fire department, military, customer service experience preferredGood organizations skillsStrong interpersonal communication skillsWrite routine detailed correspondence, to include log entries, incident and reportingAbility to work in a fast paced, customer service environmentGood time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem solveGood computer skills including Microsoft Office
