Fire Technician Local to Montgomery, AL at Total Safety Careers

Total Safety is seeking Boilermakers (NCCER preferred) with Deluge Systems/Bolt Up/Screw Pipe experience who can provide maintenance services installation of pipe fittings valves and piping systems repairs and inspects all boiler components along with working the towers and exchangers in industrial plants and/or industrial settings to keep them in good working order.âââââââTotal Safetyâis the worlds premier provider of integrated safety and compliance services and the products necessary to support them including gas detection respiratory protection safety training fire protection compliance and inspection industrial hygiene onsite emergency medical treatment/paramedics communications systems engineered systems design and materials management. Our Core Values are People Safety & Wellbeing Accountability Responsibility Empowerment Honesty Transparency and Integrity.Essential Duties:âââââExperience in maintaining job site documentation i.e. job time sheets and building drawings.Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.âProficient in hand tool power tool and pipe fitting experience.Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders scaffolding and high lift equipment up to forty feet working in ducts crawl spaces above ceilings etc.âAbility to work alternative shifts or weekends and to travel upon request to meet customer installation schedule.ââTighten and loosen bolts on flange connections and manways as per ISO drawings and work plan.ââAssist with installation/removal of blinds as needed for pressure testing purposes.ââPossess skilled knowledge of pipefittings bolts valves etc. as required.ââAssemble and secure pipes tubes fittings and related equipment according to specifications.ââUse impact wrenches combination wrenches and line up pins to install valves and piping spools.ââPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.ââââSkills and Experience:âââââ3 years boilermaker experience in the fire protection petrochemical or oil refinery related industry preferred.âAbility to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to forty pounds.âValid drivers license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance satisfactory driving record required.Must be able to pass a comprehensive background and drug/alcohol screening.The ability to successfully pass plant security drug screen (to include UA hair follicle & breathalyzer).ââWorking Environment:âââââIndustrial or shop environment.â Frequently exposed to wet humid outside weather conditions and vibration.â Works in some customer environments during later part of training.â May be exposed to high pressure chemicals gas releases or fire.â The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.âââEducational Requirements:âââââHigh School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience.âNCCER in Pipefitting/Boilermaker (preferred)âCurrent TWICââââTotal Safety and its subsidiaries afford equal opportunity in employment to all individuals regardless of race color religion sex age national origin pregnancy familial status disability status veteran status citizenship status genetic information or any other characteristic protected under Federal State or Local law.
