No fitness or personal training experience is necessary, but candidates with experience in individual or small-group fitness instruction, or a background in health sciences and/or experience with an outstanding customer service brand are encouraged to apply.All personal trainers/health coaches will receive paid training and certification in The Exercise Coach methods and technologies and must be able and willing to participate in both our exercise and nutrition methodology. CPR/AED certification is also required by the start of employment.Compensation is NEVER commission-based: coaches are paid for all time in the studio, whether working with clients or not! As an employee at The Exercise Coach, you will have the opportunity to grow with the business as we continue to expand. This is a ground floor opportunity with a well-established and exciting personal training fitness brand that is expanding into multiple locations in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC! There may be opportunities to move to full-time in the future.Duties include:Conducting exercise and health consultations with clientsLeading individual exercise sessions using high-tech, motorized/computer-controlled equipmentDemonstrating proper exercise instructionProviding exercise instruction to clients with physical limitations and history of injuryTracking fitness results for clients utilizing the data captured on computerized fitness equipment from each workoutSelling monthly and package sessions to prospectsFollowing up on leads including by phone and textWorking with a team of fellow coaches to motivate and educate a broad range of client types.Qualifications:Applicants should have enthusiasm for Health & Fitness and be willing to adopt our unique resistance training and concentrated cardio program.Applicants should be energetic, personable, empathetic, positive, strong verbal communicators, love helping people, and have a genuine interest in health and fitness. You must LOVE working with people!A college degree or background in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a health-related field is a plus, but not required.Current personal training certification or experience is a plus, but not required. Experience working with companies highly regarded for delivering exceptional customer experiences is a plus, but not required.All employees will receive full training (paid) in The Exercise Coach methods and technologies and must ultimately complete The Exercise Coach certification to train customers.CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized provider is required to train clients.Basic computer skills required.Other characteristics of an ideal candidates include being caring, upbeat, fun, collaborative, respectful of others, professional, and interested and open to new ideas.
