Time Type:Full timeRemote Type:Job Family Group:Job Description Summary: We're looking for a hands-on Fleet & Facilities Manager to lead the operational performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and site operations in Chicago area. This role is ideal for a technical fleet leader who thrives in fast-paced distribution environments and enjoys owning preventative maintenance strategy, DOT compliance, and team development.You'll have direct oversight of diesel mechanics, maintenance staff, and fleet compliance, ensuring our vehicles are road-ready, safe, and operating at peak efficiency. While facilities oversight is part of the role, the primary focus is fleet performance, uptime, and technical excellence.This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence operational reliability, control maintenance costs, and build a best-in-class fleet operation.Why You'll Love This Role:- Own fleet performance, preventative maintenance strategy, and DOT readiness- Lead and develop a skilled diesel & maintenance team- -- Make real operational decisions - this is not a desk-only role- Partner directly with operations leadership to improve uptime and safety- Competitive salary, bonus eligibility, and strong benefitsFleet & Technical Leadership- Lead diesel mechanics and maintenance staff to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and compliance- Oversee preventative maintenance programs to maximize fleet uptime- Ensure DOT compliance, inspections, licensing, and repair readiness- Analyze fleet performance, maintenance costs, and downtime trends- Partner with operations leadership to proactively address fleet risksJob Description:Salary Range: $96,600-$120,750/yr. plus 15% Annual BonusJob Responsibilities:Direct supervision of Maintenance and Diesel Mechanic staff.Train, coach, and motivate direct reports to deliver maximum productivity, service, and profitability.Develop and maintain annual budget.Build and maintain relationships with key customer service contacts at both supplier and transportation companies.Negotiate and implement vendor contracts.Maintain BBG PropertyManages the interior & exterior cleaning of the Cicero facility, Including landscaping & snow removal.Implement and track program for care, maintenance, and safe operation of all building equipment & warehouse systems.Manage all recycling initiatives: plastic, glass, corrugated, pallets, etc.Site Compliance ManagementMaintain accurate records including DOT fleet records and mechanic records.Ensure trucks are properly maintained and legal on the road including repair and annual licensing.Conduct fire inspectionsEnsure compliance on Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances in executing building operations.Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in business managementProficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation softwareMust be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skillsAbility to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlinesAnalytic and Reporting skillsUtilize sound judgement and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environmentPreferred Qualifications:Comprehension of building system operationAbility to read and understand financial statements and reportsSupervisory experiencePhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephoneCompetencies:May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine.
