Flexograhic Press Intern at First Quality

Purpose and role of job:The Press Intern working under the direction of the Press Manager is responsible for recording updating and creating operational training material and media.Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining a safe work environmentObserve all safety rules and use proper safety equipment at all timesWork to learn the basics of the printing processAssist the Pre-Press department in all aspects of the processInspect printing plates for damage and errors and log the findingsWork with the Process Engineer to collect and evaluate Press trendsWork with the teams to update Fusion specsKeep clear organized records of all projectsUse Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite to edit and design informational mediaMaintain open communication with the Press and Pre-Press Managers.Provide Managers with measurable growth data for team meetingsFollow all GMP SQF OSHA and all Plant policies and proceduresAbility to work on multiple projects while adhering to Quality requirements and meeting deadlinesConducts job in a manner which complies with the food safety program (SQF).Perform all other duties as required or directed with or without accommodationEducation and experience requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentActively pursing a print or packaging related degreeWork Environment:Has the potential for exposure to dust and fumesPhysical Requirements:Walk/stand 100% of time during a 8-hour shift.Occasional stooping bending kneeling and squatting throughout shift.Occasional climbing and reachingOccasional reaching overhead during shift.Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shiftFrequent lifting or carrying items/product weighing 10 pounds.Occasional lifting or carrying items/product weighing up to 50 pounds.Constant use of handsDaily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.Occasional climbing of steps.Full color vision is an essential job requirementMaintain 5s housekeeping standardsAdditional Requirements:Ability to maintain records and logsAbility to operate a PCAbility to use hand tools proficientlyAbility to work in a Tobacco Free Facility and on a Tobacco Free CampusDisclaimer:The above information on this job description has been described to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by incumbents.
