Flight Engineering Manager (Flight Engineering Management)Company:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics Senior Manager to join our team in Berkeley MO. This senior manager leads a team of Loads and Dynamics Engineers who conduct Flight Loads Ground Loads as well as dynamics/flutter work.The successful candidate will have experience with all aspects of aircraft loads and dynamics with deep experience expected in at least one specialty loads area like Flight loads ground loads or addition to technical qualifications to cover the product lifecycle experience with program and customer interactions as well as cost control account and personnel management are expected.Position Responsibilities:Responsible for the overall success of a diverse loads and dynamics team within an integrated product team structureManage a team of 12 to 25 employees engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight EngineeringDevelop project plans aligned with program objectivesImplement plans to ensure business technical and customer requirements are achievedAssign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute product design and developmentReview plan execution makes appropriate adjustments and resolves issuesMonitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to planReport cost schedule and technical performance to program leadershipForecast resource needs and make hiring decisionsCoach counsels mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignmentsEnsure employees are working effectively. Provides on-going developmental feedbackEnforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior safety security use of company property time charging etcThis position will require overall Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics skill coordination on tools training/development and resource assignmentsBasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mathematics Physics or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement10 years of experience in Loads & Dynamics engineering3 years of experience leading teamsActive Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Prior management experienceExcellent communication skillsExperience with loads and dynamics system requirement verification/validation and military qualification/airworthiness activitiesExperience developing and administering budgets schedules and performance standardsExperience with lab ground and flight testingPrior oversight of technical efforts of large or multi-skill teamsMentoring or technical lead engineer experienceDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana cocaine opioids amphetamines PCP and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.At Boeing we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract engage and retain the top talent.
