Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a dedicated and skilledFlight Test Data Systems Services Lab Technicianto join our dynamic team inSeattle, WA.As a vital member of the Data System Services Lab (DSSL), you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing Airborne Data System equipment and specialized test components used in Flight Test airplanes. You will also provide direct technical support to engineers developing computer and electronic test equipment.Our lab is responsible for repairing, modifying, building, and testing non-calibrated Airborne Special Test Equipment. We build both automated and manual test racks and systems, supporting engineering development and test equipment in our hardware and software labs.As a Flight Test Data System Services Lab Technician, you will support test hardware servicing, troubleshooting issues, resolve laboratory and test-related problems, and coordinate laboratory activities, including maintenance and repairs.The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a willingness to quickly learn new skills.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Flight Test Data Systems Services Lab Technicians.Position Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain non-calibrated test equipment and specialized componentsPlan and execute specific repairs, prepare preventative maintenance schedules, and conduct validation tests on assigned test systemsConfigure, validate, test, certify, and repair equipment to the component levelUtilize general and specific-purpose lab analyzing tools effectivelyImplement corrective actions to ensure equipment operates within company and industry standardsConduct failure causes and effect analysis of malfunctioning equipment and integrated systems by examining components, hardware, and systemsSimulate causes and effects of failures, document corrective actions, and provide detailed reports to engineering for reviewFabricate, rework, or modify test equipment wire bundles as necessaryAssemble developmental data systems hardware on a bench or within a rackSupport the development of technical test and validation procedures to meet government and industry standards, as well as company regulations and policies, by applying knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering principlesUtilize and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and special-purpose computing toolsCollaborate with suppliers to order and receive partsWork under the guidance and direction of engineering staffBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):1+ years of experience in laboratory and/or test environment1+ years of experience with hardware troubleshootingExperience with solderingPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAssociate degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experienceAbility to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse technical backgroundsStrong and clear communication skillsCapable of lifting up to 35 lbsAbility to read and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specificationsPerform operational/production testing, troubleshooting and rework/repair of test hardware and systemsAbility and willingness to learn new processes and skillsAbility to work with hand tools in a lab/shop environmentUse of meters, oscilloscopes, or other measurement equipmentStrong soldering skills: certification preferred but not requiredExperience in various computing system architecturesExperience with UNIX, Linux and windows operating systemsExperience maintaining Flight Test specific hardwareDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Union:This is a union-represented position.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
