Daily Responsibilities - School YearOpen the building on school days and raise the flag; secure the building after the school day beginsInspect and maintain gymnasiums each morning, including dust mopping, gum removal, and spot mopping as neededSweep corridors and check restrooms after the school day begins and again after lunchMaintain safe access during snow events by clearing walkways, entrances, and parking lot paths; apply ice melter as neededPerform custodial care of cafeteria and stage areas, including daily setup/cleanup and weekly auto-scrubbingDistribute custodial supplies to workrooms as requestedOversee the recycling program and coordinate with the kitchen and school staff to ensure compliance Maintenance & Operational DutiesPerform maintenance and repairs to existing plumbing, electrical systems, furniture, door hardware, classroom equipment, exhaust fans, CUH units, and custodial equipmentConduct monthly checks of district vehiclesMaintain safety equipment, including eyewash stations and fire extinguishersCommunicate supply shortages to supervisorsPerform weekend boiler duties as assignedInspect and straighten the building after school activities when neededAddress staff needs promptly and professionally through proper channelsFollow all manufacturer instructions for chemicals, equipment, and toolsReport any work-related injuries immediatelyFollow established yearly schedules and proceduresFill sanitary dispensers quarterlyReturn all ladders and tools to proper storage locations after useSummer & Winter Break ResponsibilitiesClean and repair school equipment per the annual schedule or as directedStrip, seal, and wax floors as assignedPerform painting projects as directed Qualifications & RequirementsBoiler license requiredIdeally 1st or 2nd Class LicenseCandidates with a Special License may be considered if willing and eligible to test for 2nd ClassNon-entry-level position with relevant custodial and building maintenance experienceAbility to lift up to 50 poundsStrong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independentlyCommitment to safety, professionalism, and timely communication Take the Next StepIf you're a skilled custodial professional with a boiler license who's ready to lead, contribute, and make a lasting impact in an educational environment, this is your chance.
