Food Sanitation Specialist (Temp-Hire Position) Location: Carson, CA Pay: $18.00 - $25.00/HR (Based on experience/qualifications) Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm (1/2 day Saturday as needed) Knowledgeable with Food Sanitation – GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). Capable of creating and/or updating Food Safety (SOP's) Benefit Package upon conversion: 100% paid Medical including vision, family medical, employee pay 30%, 401K after 12 months (voluntary), Paid vacation, Sick leave (3 days / year) Job Description: Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), who will be responsible for the management of several food safety work streams within GFSI as well as the associated communication to key stakeholders. You will also be responsible for the management of the GFSI Benchmarking Process working with consultants. Reporting to the Director of the GFSI, this is a full-time permanent position Responsibilities Include: Running several Technical Working Group projects (e.g. on auditor competence, capacity building, supply chain best practice) which are formed to deliver on a mandate set by the GFSI Board of Directors alongside those managed by the Head of GFSI Preparing project briefs and helping to identify and involve relevant stakeholders in each work stream Managing the GFSI requirement document revision with multi stakeholder groups Recruiting and overseeing the training of benchmark committee members Ensuring that each benchmark is appropriately tracked and each step is being completed in a timely manner In addition you will have: Working experience in food safety, auditing or certification is a plus Project management skills Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including companies, standard bodies, and governments A strong team leader, able to coordinate other resources and prevent and solve conflicts Meticulous organizational skills, rigorous, an eye for detail and someone who meets deadlines
